Bangkok – City and river tour

City Pillar, Wat Po, Reclining Buddha, Grand Palace, orchid market, boat on Chao Phraya and canals, Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Golden Mount Wat Saket, Chinatown. Dress code for Grand Palace: long pants or over-knee skirts, long sleeves, non-revealing tops. Grand Palace closed some public holidays and half day on Buddhist holidays. Wat Arun pagoda under renovation until further notice — temple still visitable except climbing the pagoda.

Leisurely start; cross rural plains to Ayutthaya; sugar cane/corn, sugar cane juice; Ayutthaya UNESCO ruins, Wat Chai Wattanaram; guide explains Burmese sack; lunch at local restaurant; domestic flight Bangkok–Chiang Mai (clients should depart Bangkok not earlier than 19:00 hr); guide pick-up at Chiang Mai airport, transfer to hotel; overnight Chiang Mai.
