Arrival in Balikpapan, transfer to Loa Janan to board a houseboat on the Mahakam River. Visit Muara Muntai and daily life along the wooden bridge; motorized canoe to Mancong via Jempang Lake (water birds, floating houses, Ohong River with proboscis monkeys and monitor lizards). Benuaq Dayak longhouse and dancers; cruise downstream. Tenggarong: Museum Mulawarman and Royal Cemetery of Kutai Kartanegara; Bukit Bangkirai jungle trek and canopy bridge; Samboja Lodge (BOS Foundation) with tree planting, orangutan and sun bear sanctuary; return to Balikpapan. Accommodation: 2 nights houseboat (communal cabin, very basic), 1 night Samboja Lodge, 1 night 3-star hotel Balikpapan. Meals as stated (B, L, D).

Arrive Muara Muntai, sightseeing from long wooden bridge. Motorized canoe to Mancong (Jempang Lake, water birds, floating houses, Ohong River with proboscis monkeys and monitor lizards). Mancong longhouse, Benuaq Dayak life and dancers; return to houseboat, cruise downstream.
